Cristy Gerdts Bucelo is the Founder and Managing Attorney of Gerdts Bucelo Law, P.A., where she represents individuals and families throughout Florida with a focus on family law, civil litigation, and first-party property insurance matters.

With more than seven years of legal experience in South Florida, Cristy has built her practice around a simple principle: every client deserves an attorney who is accessible, prepared, and genuinely invested in their case. She understands that clients often come to her during some of the most difficult and uncertain moments of their lives, and she approaches each matter with a combination of compassion, practical guidance, and strong advocacy.

Cristy’s law practice encompasses a wide range of matters, including dissolution of marriage, prenuptial agreements, postnuptial agreements, parental responsibility and time-sharing disputes, child support, enforcement and contempt proceedings, modifications, relocation, paternity matters, temporary custody, and other complex family-related proceedings. She also represents clients in juvenile and dependency-related matters, where the issues at stake often extend far beyond the courtroom.

Before founding Gerdts Bucelo Law, Cristy developed extensive civil litigation experience representing clients in complex disputes, including first-party property insurance matters. Throughout her career, she has secured more than $1 million in combined settlements and verdicts for her clients. Her litigation background allows her to approach every case strategically, carefully evaluating the facts, anticipating potential challenges, and preparing each matter with the expectation that it may ultimately need to be presented before the Court.

Cristy earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Relations from Florida International University and her Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law. During law school, she was recognized on the Dean’s List and participated in the Elder Law Society and Tort Law Society.
